Hello, and welcome to our website! We are Steve and Samara Ashley. We have six children and have been serving the Western North Carolina mountain region for over 15 years. Gaining Ground Ministries 501(c)3 was birthed in 2015 after we felt the Lord calling us to minister in other areas including disaster relief, prison ministry, sports evangelism and foster ministry. Little did we know that our fostering would lead to our own adoption. What a blessing God had in store for us! More recently, we have been extremely involved in Helene disaster relief. We are directly in the center of the worst hit area of northwestern North Carolina. Our property still has damage, but nothing in comparison to those down the street from us who have lost everything.
